The Social committee maintains a schedule of activities that consists of a well-rounded series of events designed to promote all aspects of Penn State’s educational program including its scholastic and cultural activities. The Social committee is also responsible for managing and coordinating seasonal watch parties, as well as managing the relationships with the establishments that host the watch parties for all sports – but especially Penn State Football!

Additionally, the Social Chair is responsible for the annual application process (RFP) that selects host sites for the seasonal watch parties. The Social Chair shall liaison with local beer and liquor vendors, local and professional sports leagues, local venues as well as additional interested entities to host chapter-sponsored events.

Sports Watch Parties

Our football watch parties are a home away from home – giving a Beaver Stadium environment right here in the DMV! When football isn’t on, we’re coordinating watch parties for other University sports teams as well as local sports league.

Social Engagements

The Social committee also coordinates social engagements that include sports events, happy hours, trivia, book club and more.

University Events

Outside of hosting events, the Social committee coordinates with the University for locally sponsored University events. Events like football games with local univeristies and department-led newtorking events.
