Join other Penn Staters on Thursday, August 13 at the Refraction Innovation Hub in Tysons, VA for an amazing professional networking opportunity!  Penn State will be the official August host for Refraction’s “AI Exchange”, an opportunity for you to enjoy a free day of coworking at Refraction, AI-related networking with other founders, aspiring entrepreneurs, investors, and others in the innovation ecosystem, and an evening program hosted by Penn State DC

• 9:00am-5:00 pm (optional):   Free co-working at Refraction!  Includes career counseling and a midday applied AI workshop.
• 5:00pm-6:00 pm:   Pre-event networking with Penn Staters
• 6:00pm-8:00 pm:   Official evening program, featuring Penn Staters speaking about AI

You do not have to be familiar with AI to attend!  Come network with other Penn Staters and build your knowledge around AI.

  • A Digital Directory of attendees will be displayed on the TV at the event with the information you provided during registration.  It will only be visible as a static TV display at the event and will not be used for any other purposes.  If you have any concerns or want to be removed, please let me know asap.

• Address: 
  • Refraction Innovation Hub, 7950 Jones Branch Rd, North 8th Floor, McLean VA
  • Note this is the Valo Park / Appian HQ building.
• Parking:  
  • Driving / Uber directly to the location will likely be easier than Metro
  • The paid parking garage is connected to the building on the west side of the building.
  • Very limited visitor parking is open in front of the building, just to the right of the garage entrance
• Metro: 
  • McLean or Tysons Metro Stop
  • There may be (not guaranteed) a “Valo Park / Appian” Shuttle (black and white striped Mercedes van) available to take you straight to the facility, with ~ 15-30 minutes between runs.
  • If there is no shuttle, the walk is just 21 minutes up Scott’s Crossing Road and the Uber is 6 minutes.
  • The shuttle will not be running at the conclusion of the event.
• Event Space: 
  • From the parking garage, follow signs to the main lobby.  Take the elevator to the lobby level.
  • From the visitor lot, walk east toward the main lobby entrance (next to the pond).
  • Find the north elevator lobby near the small food shop and cafe by looking for the Refraction Event sign by the elevators.
  • Take to the 8th floor and walk straight into Refraction.
